Cesium tellurides (have been reported to be relatively volatile: the vapour composition over the Ce-Te system was studied Knudsen cell effusion technique combined with mass-spectrometry. The presence of CsTe, Cs2Te,CsTe2 and Cs2Te2 was detected in the gas phase and investigated, the enthalpies of formation and atomization energies determined.[i]
Cesium tellurides they can be potentially applied as single-source precursors for CVD of cesium-tellurium containing layers. Cs2Te itself was found to be useful as photocathode. [ii]
