BISMUTH IMINO-BIS (DIALKYL-PHOSPHINE CHALCOGENIDES

Bismuth complexes of imino-bis(diisopropylphosphine chalcogenide) ligands M[N(EPiPr2)2]n (E = S or Se) , i.e. Bi[(iPr2PS)2N]3 and Bi[(iPr2PSe)2N]3  were synthesized by the reaction of the Na salt of NH(EPiPr2)2 (E = S or Se) with the bismuth salts in methanol, their characterisation was performed. The complexes are monomeric in the solid state and air stable. The crystal strucutee of Bi[(iPr2PS)2N]3 was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction, it demonstrates distorted octahedral coordination geometries and extended P–Se bonds.

Bi[(iPr2PS)2N]3 and Bi[(iPr2PSe)2N]3  were successfully applied as single source bismuth-chalcogen precursors for the AA-MOCVD and LP-MOCVD growth of thin films of corresponding  bismuth chalcogenides (Bi2S3 and Bi2Se3).[[i]]
