Ni(II) bis(n-butylxanthate) bis(pyridine) adduct [Ni(S2COnBu)2·(py)2] was synthesized, characterized and applied as single source precursor for the growth  for the preparation of phase-pure thin films of rhombohedral NiS (Millerite) thin films by AACVD. The deposited NiS layers were  characterized by XRD, SEM, EDX, and AFM. The film morphology was substrate dependent, but was effectively independent of the nature of precursor complex (except minor variations in thermal stability).[i]
