The Hg-Mn complex MeHg-Mn(CO)5 was obtained by treatment of [Mn(CO)5]− with MeHgCl. This complex readily disproportionates to Me2Hg and Hg[Mn(CO)5]2.
Pyrolysis of MeHg-Mn(CO)5 at 300°C gives a film
of manganese Mn, however with no retention of mercury, showing the applicability of the complex as Mn precursor for MOCVD. [[i]]
