Gadolinium nitrate Gd(NO3)3 combined with Ce(NO3)3 in the mixed solution (molar ratio of Gd:Ce = 1:4 , has been applied as Gd source for the growth of Gd-doped CeO2 by aerosol
assisted CVD (oxy-acetylene combustion AACVD, as well as plasma AACVD); for comparison same layers were grown by MOCVD using corresponding metal β-diketonate chelates. The characterisation
of the grown Gd-doped CeO2 layers proved their possible application in the fabrication of electrolyte and electrode thin films for slid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs). [i]
