Bis-cyclopentadienyl bis(tert-butylselenolate) vanadium VCp2(SetBu)2 was synthesized as a very moisture-sensitive brown solid by the reaction of VCp2Cl2
with two mol equiv. of LiSetBu in anhydrous THF. The new complex was studied as possible reagents for deposition of VSe2. VCp2(SetBu)2 produced black films of VSe2 by LPCVD at 600 °C. The grown VSe2 layers
were Se deficient, according to EDX measurements.[i]
