Cesium (I) oxide Cs2O is yellow-orange hexagonal crystals. Cs2O is the only oxide of the anti-CdCl2 type.[29] At temperatures above 400 °C Cs2O decomposes to Cs metal and the peroxide Cs2O2. [i]
Cs2O was reported to be volatile (vaporizes at 250 °C), and thus is potentially applicable as cesium precursor for CVD.
