Zn(eacac)2(TMEDA) molecular structure (ORTEP (50% probability ellipsoids))

Zinc bis(ethylacetoacetate) TMEDA adduct Zn(eacac)2(TMEDA) was synthesized from ZnCl2, Na(ethylacetoacetate), and N,N,N’,N’-tetramethylethylendiamine (TMEDA). The adduct was characterized by IR spectroscopy, NMR spectroscopy, EI-FAB-spectroscopy, elemental analyses, and thermal analysis.

Zn(eacac)2(TMEDA) for ZnO by MOCVD

Zn(eacac)2(TMEDA) has been applied as single source precursor (with bubbler temperature controlled at 110°C) for the growth of ZnO thin films on Si (100) substrates by MOCVD at the temperatures 390-430 °C, in vacuum. The grown films were characterized by X-ray diffraction and field emission scanning electron microscopic analysis; the prepared ZnO films had average grain sizes ~70 nm having orientation along the c-axis.[[i]]
